Greeting Card Design Contest
City College Chancellor Dr. Philip R. Day, Jr. is sponsoring a school-wide greeting card design contest to celebrate the new school year. The designs are intended to represent the College's diverse student body and commitment to educational access and opportunity. Designs should be non-denominational and should express the spirit and hope of the coming year. Prizes: 1st. Prize: $250 gift certificate for artgraphic supplies. Runner-ups (2) will be awarded a $100 certificate. Deadline: Entries are due by 3 p.m., Friday, Oct. 11, in the Chancellor's Office located in Conlan Hall, Rm.E-200. No entries will be accepted after the deadline. Entry forms are available: in the Art Dept., V-118, and in the Chan-cellor's Office, E200.

Diego Rivera Theatre
Auditions for "The Festival of American Playwright's of Color 5" will be held by appointment on Monday, Sept. 16, from 6-9 p.m. in the theatre auditorium. Females roles needed for the following: 1 - Asian-Am (Thai); 1 - Palestinian-Am (20-30's); 8 - African-Am, 4 - 20-30's, 3 - 70's; 2 - Latina-Am and 2 - Caucasian & other, 20-40's for multiple roles. Male roles needed for the following: 2-Native-Am (pre-teen or young adults); 5 - African-Am (20-47's) ; 3 - Latino-Am (3); Caucasian & Other for multiple roles. Biology Seminar Series
On Friday, Sept. 20 from 12-1 p.m. in the Visual Arts Bld., Rm. 115 Mary Beattie, M. D. from Mt. Zion Women's Health Clinical Research Fellow, will lecture on "Hormone Replacement Therapy: 2002." Commonwealth Club
On Wednesday, Sept. 18, a wine and cheese reception will begin at 5:15 p.m. and the program will start at 6 p.m. following the reception. Guest speaker will be the Honorable, Stephen Trott, Justice of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit. His talk will focus on "The New Counter-terrorism Efforts & Civil Liberties."
