Greeting Card Design Contest
City College Chancellor Dr. Philip R. Day, Jr. is sponsoring a school-wide greeting card design contest to celebrate the new school year. The designs are intended to represent the College's diverse student body and commitment to educational access and opportunity. Designs should be non-denominational and should express the spirit and hope of the coming year. Prizes: 1st. Prize: $250 gift certificate for artgraphic supplies. Runner-ups (2) will be awarded a $100 certificate. Deadline: Entries are due by 3 p.m., Friday, Oct. 11, in the Chancellor's Office located in Conlan Hall, Rm.E-200. No entries will be accepted after the deadline. Entry forms are available: in the Art Dept., V-118, and in the Chancellor's Office, E200.

The City College String Ensemble wil perform on Tuesday, October 8 at 4 p.m. in Arts 133. The ensemble will perform teh Concerto Grosso Opus Number 1 in G Major by G.F. Handel and the Concerto for Keyboard and Strings in D minor by Johann Sebastian Bach, and will feature guest pianist, faculty member and Music Department Chair Madeline Mueller
City College Arts Gallery Presents: "Rock Posters from the Rock Poster Society."
On October 2, 2002 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. there will be a lecture by Chet Helms, founder of the Family Dog. The gallery will host the show through October 11. For more information go to: www.ccsf.edu/info/ccsf.html.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets on Tuesdays and Thursday from 11:15-12:15 p.m. in the Martin Luther King Center on the first floor of the student union.

CCSF Players meets on Fridays at 2:00 p.m. in Bungalow 222.

P.E.A.C.E. Pilipinos for Education Arts Culture and Empowerment meets on Fridays at 1:00 p.m. in the Upper Level of the Student Union.
