City College of San Francisco Chancellor Put on Admin Leave as Investigation Starts
The decision by the Board of Trustees comes in the wake of allegations made by Chancellor Messina’s personal assistant.
City College of San Francisco Chancellor Kimberlee Messina has been placed on paid administrative leave while an independent investigator hired by the Board of Trustees looks into unspecified "matters that have been brought to the Board's attention," the board announced in a statement to the college community just before noon on Oct. 6.
The board said the leave is not disciplinary and "does not reflect any finding or conclusion."
David Yee is serving as temporary acting chancellor.
Trustees will hold a special meeting on Oct. 8 to consider appointing an acting chancellor to lead the college on an interim basis. The board said it would not comment further on what it called a personnel matter, and that classes and college operations will continue without interruption.
