watch and listen as City College's resident Diego Rivera expert Will Maynez presents Pan American Unity on Feb. 10.

"This is an exchange program for our advanced English students," chaperon and event organizer Christine Larive said. "This is an annual program where students can learn more about American culture and the educational system."

The program includes students from the schools in the south of France who stay with host families on their two-week trip and spend their days touring various schools and landmarks of the Bay Area. They had toured Alcatraz just before stopping by the Diego Rivera Theater on Feb. 10.

Larive had discovered the mural in the theater on a visit to the states three years ago.

"I wanted them to see it," Larive said.

"I'm enjoying the program," said Manon Rat, the youngest student on the trip and one of the strongest English speakers. "I like to see the American student lifestyle."
